Steven Jasinski serves as the Treasurer of the City Council. His responsibilities include working with the City Finance Director on the City’s finances and budget.

He also serves as head of the City Finance committee and is Vice President of the Police Pension Fund. In addition, he serves on the Economic Development Committee and previously served on the former Human Resources Committee.

Countryside has been home to Jasinski for most of his life. Growing up in Ward 3, he attended Ideal School, Gurrie Junior High and Lyons Township High School. He and his wife Jennifer, son Nicholas and daughter Avery still live in Ward 3, just blocks from where he grew up. Jasinski is Vice President in the commercial lending department at Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest.

A newcomer to the City Council in April, Jasinski was interested in becoming an elected official because he wants to create a great place to live for all residents today and in the future. With a background in business and finance, Jasinski has many goals for the future of the City.

Jasinski is proud to be a Countryside resident and is pleased the City is financially sound and does not levy a real estate tax. Jasinski hopes to attract new businesses and redevelop areas to attract stores to the community.

Looking to the future, Jasinski said the City Council is now working to define Countryside as the auto dealer landscape evolves. But one thing that stands out is the City employees, residents and businesses – none can survive without the other.

In his spare time, Steve volunteers as one of the founders of The H Foundation, www.hfoundation.org, which has raised more than $1.9 million for basic cancer science research. He also is an advisor for the College of Sciences at his alma mater, Eastern Illinois University, as well as a member of the Advisory Corporation Board of his college fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading a horror book, finishing a jigsaw puzzle and enjoys the company of friends.
