Ward I Alderman Robert Pondelicek and his wife of 40 years, Maxine, have lived in Countryside's Ward I for the last 35 years and are members of St. Cletus Parish.  Their three children attended Ideal, Gurrie and LTHS schools.  Alderman Pondelicek attended Wilson Junior College before joining the Army, while in the service he received extensive training in electronics and completed his military career as an instructor in guided missile systems.

After the army Bob attended DePaul University, majoring in business management.  A subsequent business career with Xerox Corp. lasted 37 years before he retired as a National Account Service Manager.  His primary responsibilities while at Xerox included resolving customer concerns and providing a high level of customer satisfaction.  He is a past member of the Countryside Police Pension Board and past Secretary of the Countryside Police & Fire Board, in addition to serving as Chairman of the Countryside Independent Party.  Bob also belongs to several community organizations, including the M.H.O.A.I. and the Illinois Police Commissioners Association.

Alderman Pondelicek promises to work hard and dedicate his time and energy to maintain and improve the quality of life and amenities provided for all the residents of Ward 1 and the City of Countryside.  He believes in being accessible and listening to constituent concerns and ideas.  Most importantly, he will not only listen to citizen concerns but will address and act on them as soon as possible.  Alderman Pondelicek believes that Countryside should continue to be a financially sound and family-oriented place to reside in and provide as many services as possible for all residents.
