Alderman Wayne Straza
- Ward 3
Alderman Wayne Straza was elected in April 2003 as a new alderman in
the City of Countryside. Wayne is currently the Deputy Director of
Enforcement Administration at the Illinois Department of Financial and
Professional Regulation. Mr. Straza has held many positions over the
course of his professional career, including as the Chief of Health
Related Investigations with the Illinois Department of Professional
Regulation, a post he held from 1998-2002. Previously Wayne had worked
in the Illinois Comptrollers Office as the Director of the Cemetery and
Burial Trust Department and as a Special Investigator in the Illinois
Department of Employment Security. Prior to his career in Illinois state
government, Wayne was a Police Officer with the City of Chicago Police
Department for over 21 years. He is also a veteran of the United States
Navy.

- City of Countryside Police & Fire Board, Chairman
- City of Countryside Economic Development Committee
- City of Countryside Planning Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals
- 1996 Presidential Delegate, 3rd Congressional District
- Illinois Crime Advisory Council
- Greater Lawn Mental Health Facility, Advisory Board Member
- Garfield Ridge American Legion, Junior and Vice Commander
- West Elsdon Civic Association, Vice President
Wayne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chicago State University
and a Master of Science, Public Administration degree from DePaul
University.
He and his wife Judy have two children, Michael and Megan.
