Special City Council Minutes - August 30, 2007

MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COUNTRYSIDE, ILLINOIS
HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 30, 2007

Mayor Conrad called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.  City Clerk Sweeney called the Roll of those physically present as follows:

PRESENT: Mayor Robert Conrad, Aldermen Wayne Straza, Karen Michalczyk, John Von Drasek, Michael Smetana, Robert Pondelicek

ALSO PRESENT: City Clerk Sweeney,  City Attorney Erik Peck, City Admin. Bailey, CDD Onderdonk

Mayor Conrad entertained a motion to move to Executive Session. Ald. Straza moved to adjourn into Executive Session under Section 2Ac of the Open Meetings Act for the purpose of discussing land acquisition, seconded by Ald. Pondelicek and carried by unanimous Roll Call vote.

Mayor Conrad declared the meeting recessed at 7:06 p.m.

The Special City Council meeting returned to Open Session with the same members present at  8:52 p.m.

Mayor Conrad sought consideration to purchase the property at 5631 LaGrange Road. Ald. Straza moved to approve purchase with all the contingencies discussed, seconded by  Ald. Pondelicek and carried unanimously by voice vote. Mr. Peck will prepare a letter for Mr. Fisher with the stipulations included.

Mayor Conrad sought Council authorization for Mr. Bailey to advertise for the hiring of a water plant operator.  Ald. Straza moved to approve the hiring, seconded  by Ald. Von Drasek and carried unanimously.  If the City needs temporary help they will hire Serrano Landscaping to do grass cutting; this has been discussed with the union.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to discuss, Ald. Smetana moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ald. Pondelicek and carried by unanimous voice vote.

Mayor Conrad declared the meeting adjourned at 8:57 p.m.
