City Council Agenda - Wednesday January 9, 2008 - 7:30pm

All items on the Omnibus Agenda are considered to be routine in nature by the City Council and will be enacted in one motion.  There will not be separate discussion of these items unless a Council member so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the Omnibus Agenda and considered separately.

A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: December 12, 2007.

B. STATEMENT OF BILLS – from period December 13 through January 9, 2008: $466,662.54.

C. MEMBERSHIP: INT’L INSTITUTE OF MUNICIPAL CLERKS – Clerk & Deputy - $190.

D. Application for a general business license from AutoBarn of Countryside, 6060 La Grange Road.  Type: Mazda Car Dealer.  Applicant: Richard Fisher. (relocation)

E. Application for a general business license from AutoBarn of Countryside, 6070 La Grange Road.  Type: Subaru Car Dealer.  Applicant: Richard Fisher. (relocation).

F. Application for a general business license from Farmingdale Millwork Company, 6280 Joliet Road.  Type: Business Office.  Applicant: John Gallagher.

G. SUBSCRIPTION:  HOPE HEALTH NEWSLETTER – All Departments - $396.96.

H. Application for a special use license from West Suburban Coin Show, Kevin Wasmer, to hold coin shows at Park Place on the following dates:  1-13, 2-10, 3-9, 4-13, 5-11, 6-8, 7-13, 8-10, 9-14, 10-12, 11-9, 12-13 & 14, 2008.

I. MEMBERSHIP: Int’l City/County Management Assn. – Administrator - $836.28.

RECREATION COMMITTEE – ALDERMAN VON DRASEK, CHAIRMAN

A. Recommendation to create a cooperative venture between the City and YMCA re: Summer Camp.

B. Recommendation to approve training to Revenue Development and Management School, March 9-14, 2008, for Asst. Administrator Peterson in Wheeling, WV.  Estimated cost:  $1,554.

C. Recommend approval of the 2nd Installment for Gateway Special Recreation Assn, term to end 6-30-08 - $6,458.85.           

X. CITY ATTORNEY/LEGAL REPORT

A. Draft ordinance re permanent structures in parkways.

B. Draft contract re cooperative agreement with YMCA relating to Summer Camp program

XI. ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

A. Recommendation to authorize Community Development Director Onderdonk to attend the APPA Conference April 27-May 1 in Las Vegas, NV.  Estimated cost: $1,655.

B. Request establishment of 1-23-08 and 2-13-08 as Public Hearing dates for ’08 CDBG application. (memo previously distributed)

C. Request authorization to purchase video and radio systems for Urban Working Group helicopter - $295,409.00.
