CARE
The
Citizen-Assisted Radar Effort (CARE) Program allows residents to
monitor speeding vehicles in their residential neighborhoods. In this
program, volunteers are shown how to operate a police radar gun and it
is loaned to them. In teams, they monitor their neighborhood for
speeding violations, and record the license plate numbers and vehicle
descriptions of the violators. The police department then mails the
registered owner a warning letter.
More information on
this program can be obtained by contacting Sergeant John Mikel
at the Countryside Police Department.
