ESDA Coordinator Steven
Norman
Steven Norman has been an
employee of the City of Countryside since 1988 and was appointed to the
position of Emergency Management Coordinator in May of 1999. During his
tenure with the organization, Steve has served in every position within
the organization including as an Officer, Lieutenant, Deputy Coordinator
and Assistant Coordinator, prior to the appointment to the position of
Coordinator.
Mr. Norman’s educational
experiences include completion of numerous independent study programs
sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) including
recently successfully completing a course in the National Incident
Management System (NIMS) to meek recent Homeland Security Agency
directives, Cook County Emergency Management Agency (CCEMA) and training
sessions sponsored by the National Weather Service. Mr. Norman is also
affiliated with the International Association of Emergency Managers and
as a resource to the Cook County Department of Public Health for
emergency planning and preparation.
Ongoing goals for the
Emergency Management and Homeland Security is to continue development of
internal training modules relating to Traffic Control, Weather Spotting,
Incident Command and exercises of the City’s Disaster Plan.
