March 8, 2011
Meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm. Upon roll call the following were present:
Jerry Welch, Chairman
Mark Burdett, Secretary
Scott Musillami, Commissioner
Also in attendance: Michael Ruth, Police Chief
The minutes of the December 14, 2010, January 4, 2011 and February 10, 2011 meetings were approved.
The Sergeant promotional exam results were certified at the special meeting held February 10, 2011. Patrol Officer Paul Klimek, the number one candidate on the list was promoted and the promotion was made official at the February 23, 2011 City Council meeting.
Chief Ruth presented the Countryside Police Department Annual Report for 2010. This is the first time an annual report has ever been put together for the Department. Chief Ruth is trying to schedule a Police Committee meeting, where he will seek authorization to hire a Patrol Officer. The meeting is tentatively scheduled for March 16, 2011.
At the March 23, 2011, City Council meeting, Sergeant Boyd and Officer Bisignani will be given a lifesaving award for their efforts in a November 2010 incident when they revived a man by utilizing the AED device in the squad car.
The Commission also discussed the next steps to take if there is approval to hire a Patrol Officer from the current Register of Eligibles.
The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on June 14, 2011.
Chairman Welch asked for any additional business and hearing none asked for a motion to adjourn.
The meeting adjourned at 8:05 pm.
