John was appointed Alderman of Ward 1 in July, 2016 by Mayor Sean McDermott to fill the vacancy created by the unfortunate death of Bob Pondelicek. John hopes to follow in Bob’s footsteps by working hard on behalf of and being available to all of the residents and businesses of Ward 1. John and his wife Betsy have been residents of Ward 1 for 18 years and have a son who is a student at Lyons Township High School. John is a graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep and Illinois State University. He is an Insurance and Financial Services Agent with the James Constantine Insurance Agency in Orland Park. John is very involved in the community, serving as a representative on the Ideal School Expansion and Rehabilitation Committee and the Ideal Park Planning Committee. He served as a Trustee for the South Lyons Township Sanitary District and was a member of the Countryside-Vulcan McCook Quarry advisory committee. John also served many years as a coach for the Lyons Township Little League and AYSO Region 300 soccer and is an active member of the YMCA Indian Guides/Trailblazer program. John looks forward to working with the residents, businesses, City Council, and City employees to keep Countryside a great place to live, shop, and play.
