Margaret Carey was sworn in as the Deputy City Clerk in August 2014. She joined the City of Countryside in October 2007, working in the Police Department for 7 years as the Assistant to the Police Chief. Margaret came to Countryside with over 10 years of experience in the private sector working as an Executive Assistant. She possesses strong organizational skills, an understanding of technology, a cheerful attitude, and strong dedication to the overall mission of the City of Countryside.

Margaret earned her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Lewis University. She is a native of the Chicago area and currently resides with her family in the southwest suburbs.

As Deputy City Clerk, Margaret reports to the City Administrator. She is responsible for overseeing all activities of the Clerk’s office, including the preparation and maintenance of official records, processing of action items after Council approval, and issuing various licenses, and certified copies of official documents. She is also the City’s FOIA Officer.
