Mike Coleman became the Building Commissioner for the City of Countryside in January 2020.  Mike has 30 years of experience as an architect in the construction industry.  He has spent the last 10 years in the code enforcement sector of the construction industry working with south suburban municipalities as an Inspector, Building Official and Director of Development Services.

At Countryside, Mike manages the Community Development Department.  He performs required inspections for building, electrical and mechanical trades, performs all plan reviews, and adopts and authors codes for the City of Countryside.  Mike is the staff liaison to the City Administrator on the Economic Development and the Sustainability Committees.  He advises the City Plan Commission in their review of prospective new businesses and proposed development.  Mike coordinates code compliance with the Cook County Health Department and the Pleasantview Fire Protection District.

Mike and his wife reside in Tinley Park with their two children.  Mike has volunteered for the Tinley Bobcat recreational sport organization for many years coaching youth soccer.
