Kevin Wagner became the Building Commissioner for the City of Countryside in December 2021. Kevin has over 24 years of experience in the construction industry and fire protection systems.
At the City of Countryside he manages the Community Development Department, performs required inspections for building, electrical, mechanical, fire code and accessibility. He performs all plan reviews for residential, commercial and all fire protection systems. He adopts and authors new and existing codes for the City of Countryside. He works with prospective new businesses and developers with the Plan Commission. He also coordinates inspections for code compliance with the Cook County Department of Public Health and Pleasantview Fire Protection District. He directs code enforcement cases, rental housing and plumbing inspections as well.
Kevin started his public service as a Firefighter/EMT with the Village of Crestwood and Posen for 9 years. He then relocated to the “Peach” state of sunny Georgia where he worked as a Fire Inspector II for Gwinnett County for 5 years. He returned to Illinois in the private sector as a Building/Fire Plan Reviewer/Inspector and supervisor for 4 years. He worked for the Village of Orland Park for the past 15 years.
Kevin and his wife, Lisa reside in Frankfort with their four children Isabella, Abigail, Jacob and Madelyn. He enjoys the many band concerts, chorus concerts, recitals, boy scouts, girl scouts and school functions with his family.
