Mutual Aid / Professional Organizations

Countryside Police LogoIn the spirit of regional law enforcement, the Countryside Police Department is involved in the following associations or task forces:
 
M.C.A.T. is a mutual aid agreement of surrounding communities to assist in investigation efforts.
 
The Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) was formed in 2002 in response to the September 11th attacks. ILEAS provides for immediate emergency response by law enforcement agencies to a requesting agency on a statewide basis, should a community suffer any natural or man-made disaster.
 
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force (SSMCTF) investigates major crimes that include homicides, kidnappings, and other forcible felonies. The unit consists of law enforcement officers from local, county, state, and federal agencies.
 
5th District SWAT is comprised of officers from Alsip, Bridgeview, Bedford Park, Chicago Ridge, Countryside, Evergreen Park, Hickory Hills, and Worth who are specifically trained to respond to High Risk Armed Offender situations and hostage barricade events.
 
The HIDTA Program provides Federal assistance to better coordinate and enhance counter-drug law enforcement.
 
Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (SMART) is a task force comprised of member departments with officers trained in major crash reconstruction that are tasked with the investigation of vehicle crashes involving substantial property damage, personal injury, and/or death.
