The City of Countryside and the Sustainability Committee encourage residents to participate in a new “No Mow ‘til Mother’s Day” initiative. The program invites residents to postpone mowing their lawn, or a portion of their lawn, through Mother’s Day to help support the local ecology, specifically the habitats of pollinators and other wildlife.

Countryside residents in single-family homes who wish to participate in the program can sign up HERE (or come to the Clerk’s Office for an application) until 4:00 p.m. on April 14, 2023. Once registered, residents will receive a lawn sign and will be exempt from the lawn mowing code enforcement through Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Regular lawn care code enforcement will resume one week after Mother’s Day and lawn signs will be collected by City staff.
